Succession Plan Combines Entrepreneurial Independence with New Growth Prospects

Steinbeis M&A advised Amrehn – Sicherheit & Technologie GmbH on the seller’s side in connection with its sale to Habanero Networks GmbH. The transaction establishes a long-term succession plan for Amrehn and opens up additional growth opportunities for the company within a nationwide corporate group.
Amrehn, headquartered in Waldbüttelbrunn near Würzburg, is an established security systems integrator that develops customized security solutions for financial institutions, businesses, public institutions, and private clients. Its service portfolio includes the planning, installation, and maintenance of building security solutions (alarm systems, video surveillance, and access control systems). The offering is complemented by BioPortA, the company’s proprietary software solution developed specifically for banks and savings banks, which integrates robbery prevention, access control, biometrics, and video surveillance.
With its integration into the Habanero Networks Group, Amrehn gains access to a broader market presence, additional certifications, and greater organizational clout. At the same time, the company’s independence and established corporate culture will be preserved. Markus Amrehn will continue to lead the company as managing director. Company founder Klaus Amrehn is stepping down from management but will continue to serve in an advisory capacity during a transition phase.
With this acquisition, Habanero Networks expands its portfolio to include physical security technology and strengthens its position in the market for critical infrastructure and financial institutions. Amrehn’s expertise broadens the group’s existing offering at the intersection of network technology, communications technology, and physical security.
