Management team around Sven Kistenpfennig and Steinbeis M&A builds up new group of companies
Mainz. In the foreseeable future, a new group of companies with a turnover of +/- 100 million euros will take its place in technical trade. This is the intention of an experienced management team headed by Sven Kistenpfennig. Formerly CEO of the Kistenpfennig Group and until 2018 on the management board of the Zitec Group (Rubix), Kistenpfennig has set up a buy-and-build concept together with Steinbeis M&A. Several small to medium-sized companies are to be merged in two phases. In order to leverage potentials and group advantages, they will be integrated into a holding company with two business divisions (Trade & Services).
As a platform company, Sven Kistenpfennig will found and capitalise KUKITECH GmbH in July 2020. While he takes over the operational management, the Steinbeis M&A advisors, who are highly experienced in technical trade and are led by Steffen Lohrer and Martin G. Schmitt, will accompany the investment strategy and centrally coordinate the activities. In addition to the management team, experienced industry experts will also come on board. The development will be accompanied by a German equity investor who will ensure the financial clout in the long term, but without harbouring operational business ambitions.
The focus of KUKITECH’s business activities is on the product and service areas of drive technology, fluid technology, sealing, bonding and lubrication, tools and occupational safety. To this end, KUKITECH is entering into talks with technical dealers in all German industrial regions. “We are interested in owner-managed companies that generate a turnover of five million euros or more,” explains Kistenpfennig.
Within the next few months, the first companies will form a strong unit at eye level. Kistenpfennig, Lohrer and Schmitt are looking forward to getting to know the existing corporate cultures and USPs of the companies. The goal is to bundle the value-creating specialities in the new corporate unit and make them available to all customers. With group advantages such as economies of scale in purchasing, process optimisation and cross-selling, they can quickly improve their competitive situation and grow disproportionately with independent financial strength KUKITECH GmbH i.G.. Kistenpfennig comments: “The concept offers great opportunities to the companies that come to us. Be it as an answer to the increasing consolidation pressure in the market, or as a smart succession plan.” Proven cooperations, e.g. with VTH or E/D/E, are to be maintained.
